After five years of continuous efforts by medical researchers and engineers on the development of the voluntary control technology of the bionic hand, this advanced system succeeded in moving the hand movements of the amputated patient voluntarily through the magnetic sensors implanted in the muscles of the forearm on August 14, 2024.

The artificial hand voluntary control project is an outstanding interdisciplinary collaboration between the robotics laboratory of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Faculty of Engineering, under the supervision of Prof. Alireza Akbarzadeh, and the Orthopedic Research Center of the Faculty of Medicine, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, under the supervision of Dr. Ali Moradi.

This innovative achievement is considered as a big step in the field of improving prosthetics and rehabilitation technologies in the world.

It is hoped that with the support of officials and other researchers in this field, a step will be taken to develop this advanced and practical technology as much as possible.
