Department of Information Science and Knowledge Studies

The Department of Information Science and Knowledge Studies (formerly the Department of Library and Information Studies) offers programs at the Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. levels. It is a top department of its kind in Iran benefiting from top academic staff and talented students. The Bachelor’s program aims to make students familiar with the importance of the role of libraries in the development of culture, science and technology in the society. The main aim of the Masters’ program is to train specialists and skilled human resources in the fields of Information Science and Knowledge Studies for the management of libraries and documentation centers. The field of specialization in this program is Information Management. Doctoral students study Information and Knowledge Retrieval, a newly developed course in Iran. More
